Ashwani Saihgpaul was born and raised in Punjab, India, where he mastered his craft in traditionalIndian cuisines and hospitality. After the passing of his father, Ashwani had the duty to support his fivesiblings and mother although he experienced hardship and obstacles. As more responsibilities grew,Ashwani decided to immigrate to Canada and find a living by working at a restaurant to send moneyback home to his family. Soon after, Ashwani went back to his home country to marry Vijayluxmi.Ashwani returned to Canada with the support of his wife, mother, and sister in 2000. Ashwani andVijaluxmi worked together towards taking a big step in their journey, which was the establishment oftheir very own restaurant. In 2002, the first Rajdhani Sweets and Restaurant branch opened on Albion andIslington Avenue. From there on Ashwani handles all the cooking and sweet preparations, whileVijayluxmi operates the flow and management of the business. Over time, Rajdhani Sweets &Restaurant has opened and will continue opening multiple chains of franchises serving customers thebest service and quality food that they deserve. As time went by, Ashwani and Vijayluxmi still operatethe business with love, hard work, teamwork, and dedication.
